Ideal for a cozy getaway
We chatted with Bob, the innkeeper, who spun tales about the house's history that had me hooked. The Elizabeth Thorn room? Just gorgeous. It faced the main street but with good soundproofing, we barely noticed a thing at night. And breakfast? Oh man, Gail’s pancakes were something else, fresh and fluffy, so good it felt like waking up in my own kitchen.
Not the cheapest place, but worth every penny.

The breakfast was fab, homemade goodness that tied the whole stay together! Plus, the location's a goldmine. you're just a hop to eateries like Dobbin House Tavern and Mr G's Ice Cream. We even chatted up with Mark, who gave us the lowdown on the house and its history, sweetening the experience.
But here's the scoop, my room was misrepresented as a Superior Double Room, yet I barely had space for a chair! Plus, I spotted a filthy glass upon arrival and some lazy cleaning left the space looking less than fresh. Talk about a bummer on an otherwise charming property!

The Elizabeth Thorn room was cozy and quiet, which I really appreciated. Even though it faced the street, I hardly noticed any traffic noise. The charm of the old house was nice, and it felt inviting. I loved having my own keys to come and go as I pleased. The decor was vintage, adding to the overall experience. Just a heads up, though—some amenities were a bit lacking. I had to bring my own soap. But overall, it made for a comfy one-night stay.

A spacious, clean room with wonderful linen made for a fantastic night. The gracious host provided complimenting fresh cream cakes, and the communal areas offered a cozy spot for relaxation. The historical significance of the property is a unique bonus, and the convenient downtown location allows easy exploration of attractions. However, occasional noise could be heard from the main street, and while the inn has a charming atmosphere, potential ghostly encounters might surprise some guests.
